It’s like poetry, it rhymes
Congratulations! You did it! You made it another year! Pat yourself on the back for another completed revolution ‘round the sun. I shall do the very same. Feels good, doesn’t it? Now, I don’t want to jinx it, so I won’t jinx it, but I’m feeling rather hopeful. I’m hoping by saying I’m not going to jinx it, that I don’t actually in point of fact, ironically jinx it.
In all honesty, I’m not entirely sure why, but I’ve got a really good feeling right about now. Something that The Black Eyed Peas famously once said. Maybe it’s cuz I’m also absolutely high as an absolute kite. I’m on some real good stuff as we speak. Thank you, Lakewood Cannabis, for another great year! Here’s to another right around the corner!
The holidays are winding down, as we approach the last great party of the year. The New Year’s Eve Party is arguably the most important party event of the year. Not only is it the last party of the year, but it also just so happens to be the very first party of the new year. See what I did there? Like, I said, I am incredibly and very unequivocally stoned right now.
This party is about freedom and hope. The former, because all of the parts of the year that didn’t go your way, you can just shake them off. Just like Taylor Swift once said. Maybe I just like thinking about specific songs when I’m particularly puffed-up on glorious ganja.
You can also shake things off in a literal fashion by dancing the very night away, which is highly encouraged. If you’re not the most confident of dancers, that’s okay too, because you can always imbibe in a touch of liquid courage or two. The latter because of the possibilities of what the next three-hundred-and-sixty-five days could potentially entail. Three-hundred-and-sixty-six days if you’re reading this with an impending leap year on the horizon. I have yet to meet another human being whose actual date of birth is February 29th. Have you? Leap Years feel like the most made-up thing of all time.
What isn’t going to be made up, will be your final night of fantastic frivolity for the year. This NYE party is great, because it’s one of the best times to reconnect with friends and family members whom you might not have seen in a very long time. Seeing a person’s face light up at the very sight of you, will melt even the coldest, and most cynical of dead hearts. A strong embrace with another person is a feeling and sensation that can never be beaten. Never let go the power of a great hug. There’s something so central, integral, heartwarming and inherently human by deeply embracing another person in your arms. While you’re there, it would most certainly behoove oneself to pat that person’s back. Hopefully they will return the gesture. It’s like poetry, it rhymes.
If you’re feeling rather down in the dumps right now, don’t feel bad because that’s also perfectly normal. Your thoughts and feelings have value. Even if you think that they don’t. There are so many people around that love you and care about you. Even if you think that they don’t. I’m sure those very same people want to see you and know how you’re doing.
Now is a time to celebrate both the past, present and future. Hopefully you got everything done that you wanted to accomplish. Don’t worry dear reader, if not, for there’s always next year!
Mary-Jane
