How is summer almost over?
Seriously, how are we already rapping on September’s doorstep mere moments from now? Last time I checked, days still consisted of a full twenty-four hours. And yet, the warm weather and the sun-kissed water parks are sadly coming to a close for the 2022 season. Were you able to get everything done these past view months that you wanted to? Or were you a tad short of reaching your goals? If you weren’t able to accomplish everything, don’t be too hard on yourself. You can always try again next year.
As I sit here and write this post, I note where I am. I don’t mean mentally or spiritually, I’d probably have to be high for that. Like really, really high. I just mean physically. Right now, I’m physically in the bustling food court, at the even more bustling downtown mall. I’m noting my reflective state. I look at all of the different
people going to and fro around me. Different races, colours, creeds, sexual orientations, etc... have all come together in order for one single purpose: to eat lunch. It’s busy, but it’s peaceful. All of the food-court workers are laser-focused at their tasks, in order to hit the high-demand of the dreaded “Lunch Rush”.
Another reason this place is packed most definitely has something to do with the weather. Maybe where you are, the weather is manageably lukewarm. Totally jealous if that’s your reality. If that’s not the case, then you’re probably suffering through this absurdly ridiculously heat-wave like the rest of us. So many people have escaped the boiling hot sun, tofind shaded solace and air-conditioned aesthetics during these proverbial dog-days.
While there’s chaos certainly abounding in the lives of every single person frequenting this foodie-space, you’d never know it. The insular lives of each individual human being on display remains privately tight-lipped. If the microcosm populace of this area were at all struggling, you’d simply never know it.
For all intents and purposes, the world looks tofinally be going “back to normal”. Whatever that actually means. There’s a peace and a reassurance to people- watching at the food court. Everyone seems to be doing okay. At least, I hope they are.
I don’t know about you, but personally speaking, I love when the leaves change to their preordained autumnal auburn hue. One thing to always look forward to as summer comes to an end, but before the harsh bitterness of winter strikes, is the season safely ensconced directly between the two polar opposites. Fall.
And you know what that means, sweater weather! Yay!
